Maura Rogers

Project Topic: Collinwood History

Project Description: Why are oral histories important? Oral histories do what regular histories can not. They capture the personality and personal truths of a community. After hundreds of residents are interviewed, North Collinwood students will help transcribe these interviews into written text. The finished product, a book, will document word-for-word Collinwood's unique, important voice.

Community Engagement Strategy: We will raise awareness about this project at local businesses, schools and churches, the Collinwood Library, the Collinwood Recreation Center, with sign up sheets at all locations for interested residents. Interviews will occur over the summer months and the finished book will be complete by November 2016.
